NYC Furniture Store Encourages Instagramming

ABC Carpet and Home scattered signs around their RAW collection room tipping visitors to a custom Instagram tag for their photos.

Hidden in a second floor corner of ABC Carpet and Home’s New York Store is a room called ‘RAW’ Through a brick doorway, down a couple of stairs and visitors are in the middle of a collection of salvaged industrial items, unfinished furniture pieces and old signs. Items are arranged more in piles, some reaching close to the ceiling and wandering the space is like being in an episode of ‘American Pickers’. ABC must have realized that it became a popular spot to take cameraphone pics and now encourage posting Instagram photos with a custom #rawabchome tag. Most retailers are paranoid with visitors taking photos in their stores so it is unique to see ABC acknowledge that it is ok.
