One artist has already created paintings from house fly’s regurgitated dinner, so why not use bird excrement to create a form of typography? Spanish artist Fabrizio Lamoncha has created a printer powered by bird poo, resulting in a very unusual but intriguing interpretation of the Latin alphabet.
Using a modular bird cage, the artist is able to rearrange the layout of the cage to form different shapes, in the case the letters of the alphabet. A group of male zebra finches are then left to go about their daily business. They deposit their waste onto an extended roll of paper below the cage, resulting in a shape decided by the cage’s current configuration.
