The world’s largest office products company Staples found a way to connect the simple technologies we use everyday. Announced today, Staples Connect is a multi-platform app and universal “hub” that will allow electronic devices such as lights, computers, air-conditioners, to talk to each other. Staples Connect enables users to control an entire room filled with electronics with one single app. Users can effortlessly lock their office door, while turning on their lights and other necessary settings at home.

One of the connected devices is the DoorBot, a Wi-Fi enabled video doorbell accessible via app. We featured DoorBot in our Future Of Home Living exhibition.

Executive Vice President of Merchandising Mike Edwards is confident that the device will, “make it easy for customers to control their entire home or office from their smartphone, tablet or laptop, wherever they may be.”

Powered by Linksys, the Staples Connect Hub will be available in select Staples stores for $99 this November.
