Nowadays, time and space are truly valuable resources, so any device that can make our lives more efficient gains a point in its favor. Such is the case with Zeus, the all-in-one 3D printer designed by AIO Robotics, which raised more than $100,000 in less than two days on their Kickstarter page, far exceeding their funding expectations.
This hybrid box automates the process of both 3D printing and 3D scanning with an additional fax, that would allow users to send copies of the objects to other Zeus machines, where it can be printed out. AIO Robotics aims that with Zeus we will be able to finally bring 3D printing to mainstream audiences by being able to clone real objects that surround you instead of pulling 3D designs from the internet. Additionally, the machine has built-in Wi-Fi and a micro SD card slot along with multiple other features.
Our 7 inch Touch-Screen Display and User Interface is bar-none the most beautifully designed touch experience on the planet for 3D printers. We strongly believe this feature will change 3D printing forever as it not only makes everything easier and faster, but really provides that shelf-ready quality product that everyone desires. The incredibly simple UI makes the ZEUS extremely intuitive and user-friendly to transform all the complex technology into a simple experience.
There are other hybrid 3D printers in the market such as the FABtotum 3D hybrid, currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, as well as the Mebotics, however both of these devices seem to be designed to the experts rather than the everyday consumer.
Bad news for the backers is that Zeus is not due to ship till July 2014. The upside: you will be rewarded with a personalized travel bag.
