A couple of weeks ago inventor and magnate Elon Musk tweeted about the Iron Man-inspired 3D modeling program that he and his guys over at SpaceX have been working on. This week he posted a video showing what the program looks like and how it works.
The 3D modeling setup combines a Leap Motion controller with various display technologies like the Oculus Rift VR headset and a 3D projector.
The video shows Musk using hand gestures to move around the 3D model of a rocket component. He also shows how to zoom in and out and inspect specific parts of the 3D model without putting a single finger on a mouse.
The video also shows how designers and engineers can send their models straight to a 3D printer.
It’s no secret that Musk has been likened to Tony Stark and it looks he’s getting closer and closer to actually becoming Iron Man in the flesh.
