Animated field guide makes sure travellers know what to expect when they come to NYC.
A few months ago, Nathan W. Pyle was asked by Reddit to create an animated guide for newcomers to the city of New York. It was so successful it has since been turned into a book, and now, the illustrator has unveiled a second series of etiquette advice for the NYC newbie. See his previous tips here.
It really is as simple as it sounds, but the advice is a lot more valuable than Pyle could have anticipated.
Some of the situations covered include “How long it’s acceptable to kiss in public,” “how to use a stranger’s slipstream to avoid unwanted solicitation,” and “how to deal with a queueing situation when nobody is sure if there is even a queue.”
Many of the situations will be all too familiar for those living in New York, and for those who don’t, you will know how to deal with them when you visit the city.
There are even talks on Reddit of a franchise that would cover other major metropolitan areas around the US.
