Scandinavian artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset of Elmgreen & Dragset have created Tomorrow, a large installation covering the former Textile Galleries at the Victoria & Albert museum in London.
The galleries were transformed into a fake London apartment with a full kitchen, living room, dining room, bedrooms, and even a study.
The rooms of the apartment come with various items and objects that contribute to the personality and story of the fictional inhabitant. The artists imagined the resident of the apartment as a failed architect in his 70′s, one who had many ideas and visions but was not able to complete his projects. The design of the inhabitant’s study contribute to this backstory with the sample models that are displayed in the room.
The installation is one that visitors can experience fully. They are allowed to go inside the rooms, sit on the chairs, and touch and peruse the objects that adorn the apartment.
The installation opens on October 1st and is on exhibit through January 2nd 2014.
