She first hinted at the “ambitious” project during an AMA session on Reddit earlier this week. In collaboration with Vice Media and BitTorrent, Madonna hopes to see the 17-minute film will inspire other musicians, poets, photographers, and other visual artists to speak out against oppression and persecution.

Madonna is making a bold move and wants to see revolutionary changes take place:

I hope my film and other submissions to Art for Freedom will be a call to action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency.

She co-directed secretprojectrevolution with Steven Klein and will debut it in conjunction with the digital initiative called Art for Freedom, which gives a platform for express their opinions about freedom.

Klein has shared his views about the project:

This film operates on many levels. It examines our private prisons. It questions what we do, how we do it and how we treat others. It questions our governments and our collective thought patters. Think about it – the power of art can lead to peace.
