The Sesame Street Family Play app has more than 150 off-screen games fit for any place and situation.
Parents and their kids can have fun while waiting at the doctor’s office or during a road trip with the Sesame Street Family Play app, created by game developer Hide & Seek and the people behind the popular kid’s show Sesame Street.
The app has over 150 off-screen games that families can play anytime and anywhere. Users only need to tell the app where they are and how many people are playing and the app will suggest games to keep everyone entertained, especially the children.
The games within the app are tagged by mood, location, character, and curriculum, so the app can find the perfect game to play for a certain situation or location.
Some of the games offered by the app include Bathesketball, a game played in the tub and enjoyed with a bowl and a washcloth, and SuperLetterMarket, a game where families shop alphabetically.
According to Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Media Distribution at Sesame Workshop, the app is a great way for kids to play with grownups and vice versa and is a good example of how we can use mobile devices as a tool for real-world interaction and for building togetherness.
The app is designed to encourage everyday playful moments, wherever you are. The games encompass all aspects of child development, such as self-regulation and executive function skills, problem solving and critical thinking, and imagination and creativity.
The Sesame Street Family Play app is available on iTunes and can be downloaded for free until September 22nd.
