Inspired by the overblown New York apartment listings that litter Craigslist, copywriter Dan Brill decided to create a Tumblr that demonstrated what it would be like to browse the aisles of your local grocery store if they used the same tactics. The Broker Bodega features everyday products such as toilet paper, chicken noodle soup and chocolate that suddenly seem a lot more enticing, all thanks to a bit of creative copywriting.

Alka-Seltzer sounds more like a miracle cure than an indigestion tablet:

PLOP, PLOP, GEE WHIZ!!!!!! *~TOTAL GUT RENOVATION~* 176 EFFERVESCENT TABLETS WITH ***NEW LOOK*** PACKAGING!!! YES ($3700)

Kleenex tissues which have only been “lightly used” make use of puns to sell you on the life they still have in them:

YOU’VE SEEN THE REST NOW PICK THE BEST! EXPERIENCE {{LUXURY}} _THICKNESS_ AND _ABSORBENCY_ THAT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!!  ($3375)

There are some more examples in the gallery below which should prepare you for these shady tactics if your local grocer ever decides to hire a morally ambiguous copywriter.
