Taking the real-estate market by storm, Facebook has shared its plans to build a new 394-unit apartment near its headquarters in Menlo Park. In efforts to foster a better community and provide affordable housing to low-income tenants, Facebook is the first company to take on a significant new housing project in Silicon Valley in 20 years.
The 630,000-square-foot complex Anton Menlo has an estimated cost of $120 million. The Menlo Park complex is a joint venture of Facebook and developer St. Anton Partners, and will be designed by Southern California architects KTGY Group. In addition to the variety of studios and multi-bedroom apartments, the building will feature 15 below-market-rate units specifically set aside for low-income tenants.
Anton Menlo is designed to satisfy every possible need of a young professional. Amenities include a pool, rooftop deck, communal kitchen, bodega, bar, bike repair shop, yoga room, personal trainer, dog day care and pet spa.
While this complex is not the “official” Facebook Apartments, it is still a building specially designed to add a level of comfort and accessibility for the company’s employees.
