With a brilliant idea in mind, Mike DiGiovanni – a technologist at digital agency Roudarch Isobar – found a way to combine the desktop version of “Grand Theft Auto III” with Google Glass, introducing a whole new way to experience video games for players.
DiGiovanni created GTA Navigation for Glass – name has yet to be finalized – to give players a better way to navigate Liberty City in real-time. Also, the Google Glass app provides players an easier way to view the gaming screen and GPS map in the corner of the screen.
While playing “Grand Theft Auto V,” DioGiovanni had a sudden inspiration when he was struggling to interchange his gaze between the game’s characters and the GPS map on an 80-inch projection screen.
After several attempts to create the app on later versions of GTA, he finally succeeded creating the app for the earlier third version GTA.
The app might open the conversation of Glass and wearables as second screens of gaming. It could open a whole new genre of games that we’ve never really seen before.
