Homes built with cats in mind have proven that furniture can be accessible for pets and humans, which is why lifestyle brand ‘THE9LIFE’ have gone on to create their own range of high-quality furniture. Located in Hong Kong and Japan, where space is one of the most valued commodities, the company wanted to create a collection that would optimize small living environments without compromising on comfort and style.

The company used a simple formula to fuel their design process: cat + human + space. This philosophy was all it took to create a number of pieces that provided a place for cats to play, and people to relax. Examples include “Afternoon Table,” a table with a storage compartment that doubles as a scratching post as soon as you place a stack of unwanted magazine inside, and “Welcome Home Shelf,” which provides a place for you to put your keys, and a place for your cat to await your arrival.

Seeing as the designs are so subtle, the designers also created a set of “Cat’s Favorite Place“ posters to stick on your walls so that people know you’re a cat person.
