Banksy creates a "screaming truck" that drives around the streets of New York.

The latest piece of work from British street artist Banksy during his month-long New York residency is a delivery truck stuffed with cuddly farmyard animals. Its adorable visage is quickly shattered by an ear-piercing scream that comes from the truck, drawing attention to the animal’s distress, and ultimate destination – the slaughterhouse.

Know as the “Sirens of the Lambs,” the vehicle started its journey in the meatpacking district to drive home the point, before moving on the rest of the city. Whether it will make it that far is another question altogether, as many of the Banksy’s previous installations have been pounced on by rival street artists, as well as opportunistic locals looking to make some quick money by charging for photos.

On top of the casual cruelty that goes on in the food industry, Banksy also spent time as a youth grinding meat in a Butcher shop, something which may have contributed to the current exhibition. Be sure to watch the video to get a sense of how unsettling the truck actually is when it passes through New York neighborhoods:
