Writer Quits Via Viral Video To Protest Media’s Focus On Analytics [Video]

Writer Quits Via Viral Video To Protest Media’s Focus On Analytics [Video]

Employee hands in her resignation with a YouTube video that has attracted over 7 million views.

Next Media Animation is a company in Taiwan that creates reenactment videos, so it makes perfect sense that an employee of the company would quit using an informative dance video. After two years of working at the company, Marina Shifrin decided to quit using a medium her boss was all too familiar with, viral video.

The video is set to Kanye West’s “Gone,” and features Shifrin dancing around the office alone at 4am in the morning. Captions throughout explain how she sacrificed relationships, time, and friends for the job. As well as the fact her boss only cares about page views, instead of quality content.

Attracting over 7 million page views so far, the video could be her most viral video yet. If you keep scrolling down, you can also find a response video from the company that fights its corner and lets the world know that they are hiring.

Here is the original video Shifrin sent to her boss:

As well as the response recently created by her boss and other employees at the company:
