In order to master the art of coffee brewing, you need be in possession of all the right equipment – a grinder and a dripper is just not enough. Developed by Aaron Takao Fujiki, the Acaia is a beautifully designed scale that comes with a heat insulation pad to help you brew the best cup of coffee time and time again.

The sleek surface of the scale is sealed and coated to protect it from accidental spills. With a touch sensitive on/off button and Tare button, the device also removes any possibilities where gritty coffee grounds can get stuck in the crevices. Acaia is an universal scale that can switch between metric and US measuring units. Its accuracy is stealthy precise – the weight is measured to the tenth of a gram.

When paired with its complementary app, the scale turns into a personal coffee barista. The app connects to the scale via Bluetooth 4.0 technology, and helps coffee lovers time and monitor their steamy beverage in real-time.

If you want to add this piece of technology to your brewing kit, check out the company’s Kickstarter campaign and help them bring this project to the market.
