Cloud-based mobile video app Cameo allows friends to remotely collaborate on short films.

Cloud-based mobile video app Cameo allows friends across the country to collaborate on short films together in real time. As many as three contributors can add their own 720p HD video clips to each shared file to create a vignetted short film up to 2 minutes in length. Users can also add music and text to fully customize their films.

In an already crowded video-app marketplace, Cameo hopes to stand out from the competition with a streamlined and simplified user-interface that doesn’t sacrifice editing functionality.

In addition to its own user network, Cameo allows creators to seamlessly share their videos on third party social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Cameo is currently available for free in the iTunes App Store.
