A two-day smackdown of HBO’s most hated monarch.
Fans of “Game of Thrones” will be glad to hear that HBO and 360i have launched a new campaign to roast King Joffrey. Last year’s “Red Wedding” episode is supposedly the inspiration behind this effort. The purpose of this event is to create buzz for the show even during its off-season.
The campaign gives viewers a chance to spew their vitriol for Joffrey using a specific hashtag. The best bits of the roast will be featured on RoastJoffrey.com. HBO invited celebrity fans and creative talents to contribute to the roasting as well. And if the entertainment industry wasn’t enough, the campaign even reached out to college campuses and HBO brand ambassadors at colleges nationwide. Students met during study session breaks to churn out some nasty remarks about Joffrey.
