Grow your own vegetables on this 3D-printed chessboard.

Chess is a game of patience and planning ahead, much like the art of growing your own vegetables. Now it’s possible to indulge in both of those pastimes at the same time thanks to XYZ Workshop. They have created a 3D-printed chessboard that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but capable of yielding some great herbs and seasoning for your home-cooking.

The geometric nature of the set is complemented perfectly by the uncontrollable elements of living organisms. What also makes this chessboard so great is that there is lot more freedom of expression; you can define the shape, smell, and size of your pieces depending on what you decide to plant in each one.

If you’ve mastered the art of 3D-printing, or have access to a public facility, be sure to download the free template for yourself.
