Tim Weingarten, co-founder and CEO of social shopping website The Hunt, spoke at PSFK’s launch event for our Future of Retail Report about how online shopping behavior centers around fashion items in a context, rather than individual items set against a white background, devoid of engagement. He said,

If you spend your time looking at photos, what you end up realizing is that the things you wear and buy are triggered by these photos. They’re not triggered by going to stores anymore, they’re not triggered by reading magazines, nor by looking at ads or catalogs – they’re triggered by these photos.
