Men’s magazine partners with a trendy shaving outlet to offer haircuts at sports games.
GQ has already set up bars in exotic locations like Istanbul, Moscow and Dubai, so why not incorporate a barbershop into a sports venue? With the help of fashionable shaving outlet Fellow Barber, the men’s fashion brand will open their first GQ Barbershop at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday.
Services on offer will range from a simple $10 “cleanup,” all the way through to a shave and haircut package for $75. While these prices might not make sense to the average sports fan, it’s important to remember that the Barclays Center has worked hard to create a new kind of sports venue. Home to The Vault, touted as “the most elite club in the country,” as well as trendy eateries like Fatty ‘Cue, it’s more than likely there is a market for a GQ-branded barbershop.
Fellow Barber founder, Sam Buffa commented on the GQ site, “we are really excited to join forces with exceptional partners like GQ and Barclays Center.” While GQ Vice President and Publisher Chris Mitchell added: “It is the ideal intersection of style and entertainment.”
