Hand-Cranked Video Player Adds Analog Flair To Vine Clips [Video]

Hand-Cranked Video Player Adds Analog Flair To Vine Clips [Video]

A physical addition to social media that adds a vintage feel to modern technology.

Serena Chu

The designers at Social Print Studio constructed a hand-crank machine that plays Vine videos backwards, fast or slow, and frame by frame. Called the Vinelodeon, the machine is a white box with a small, square display screen in the middle. This sizable geometric piece of art is a prime example of how vintage designs and modern technology can be combined to create something even more unique than the sum of its parts.

Fueled by a passion to do things better and to make things more exciting, the Social Print Studio has been exploring the world of interactive art through the eyes of a tech guru. The team is adrenalized by the power of social media, and loves exploring new ways to visualize captured moments.

If you are curious about the studio’s whimsical player, check out the video below.
