Night-Time Delivery Service Eases The Hassles Of Online Shopping

Parcel promises residents of Manhattan evening delivery of important packages.

People who work a nine-five job are rarely home at the same time as the package delivery guy unless they take time off work. But for New Yorkers, that’s all about to change. Parcel, a new delivery service designed in response to the rise in online shopping, will receive your packages during the day for you, and then drop them off at a more convenient time later that evening.

Once Parcel receives your package, a confirmation notice, similar to a status update text from UPS, will be sent to your phone, and delivery time slots are then available between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. every night.

As a complimentary incentive, the night-delivery service will be free of charge until January 15. After that, a small fee of $5 will be charged for every delivery. Just bear in mind that there are a two restrictions: Parcel is limited to serving residents of Manhattan, and package dimensions cannot exceed 22-by-22-by-15 inches and must be lighter than 20 pounds.
