Design School Tasks Students With Creating Parking Space-Sized Dorm Rooms

Design School Tasks Students With Creating Parking Space-Sized Dorm Rooms

Savannah College of Art and Design challenged its School of Building Arts students to develop a microhousing prototype.

Leah Gonzalez

SCAD or the Savannah College of Art and Design, has issued a challenge to its School of Building Arts students to develop a microhousing prototype on the parking deck of SCAD Atlanta.

The micro-homes will be designed to fit in the footprint of a parking space and will have everything that a student needs — kitchens, beds, and showers.

The homes will be available to a few students for two to three weeks. Students can apply to move into SCADPad and share their experiences through blogs, tweets, and videos.

Find out more about the project in the video below.
