The team at Instagram have published a hard copy handbook instructing brands on how to reach their audiences through visual media and show off their best work on the social media network. The Instagram Handbook For Brands profiles eleven best-in-class brands such as @disneyland, @patagonia and @chobani, who know best how to engage their consumer via visual stimuli alone. These brands, who are at the top of the league board when it comes to likes and comments are offering up tips on how to best engage with an audience. The Instagram team posted on their tumblr, “these accounts bring their unique identities and values to life through captivating imagery and a focus on their respective communities.”

The book also reveals Instagram’s very own brand values and ten of the most popular hashtags that highlight the collaborative creativity within the Instagram community, such as #chasinglight and #thingsorganizedneatly.

Speaking on the book itself, the team explain, “When it comes to brands and businesses, our goal is to help companies reach their respective audiences through captivating imagery in a rich, visual environment. One way we can do this is by providing new resources and tools to educate and inspire marketers.”

For those who’d prefer to read online, there is also a dedicated tumblr account that too shares tips, API examples and news with an aim to help improve brands and companies’ efforts on the social site. The tips include ‘be true to your brand, share experiences and find beauty everywhere.’ Which to some creative companies may be quite obvious, but to others could really be used as beneficial tools or reminders when thinking about posting something to the company’ Instagram accounts.

Watch the video below for a snippet of what features in the book:
