With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Wired pulled data from OkCupid and Match.com to create the ultimate dating guide, packed with helpful tips and advice. To help people create the perfect online dating profile, the team made every effort to understand how people present themselves online and what exactly makes them tick.

With a good grasp on what are this year’s hottest trends and most attractive characteristics, Wired shares some interesting facts that may have gone unnoticed by both single men and women. Apparently, yoga and surfing are the most attractive hobbies for people looking to score a “mellow” date. Cat references are fine, but as long as you don’t mention “my cats.” Men who use “whom” get 31 percent more contacts from the opposite sex.

If you are curious about other findings, click through the guide below. Hopefully these findings will help you find that special someone before Valentine’s Day!
