Composter Turns Food Waste Into Urban Fertilizer [Video]
The Food Cycler: Home is a compact, indoor composting appliance that can convert food scraps into fertilizer in less than 3 hours.
The Food Cycler: Home is a composting device that converts food waste into fertilizer. It sterilizes, deodorizes and turns food scraps into safe, organic compost that can be reused as a soil amendment.
The appliance would be great for homeowners living in urban areas or in small apartments, where it could be integrated into their kitchen. It only takes around three hours to convert the waste, while emitting no odor and little noise.
The Food Cycler’s creators hope it will help to reduce the 475 pounds of food waste each person creates every year. The device is currently raising funds on Indiegogo, where you can get your hands on one of the first 150 models made available in North America for a pledge of $399.
