No time to brew your own coffee or run to the nearest shop for a shot of espresso? Here’s a portable coffee maker for you.

Piamo is a portable coffee maker that takes only 30 seconds to brew a cup of espresso using a microwave.

Piamo consists of a cup, a filter, and a water chamber. To make coffee, the user need to fill the chamber with water, insert a coffee pad or ground coffee into the filter, stack them together, flip them, and attach them to the cup before popping the whole thing into the microwave for 30 seconds. The pressure pushes the water through the coffee in the filter and drips down to the cup.

The idea for the product was developed by Christoph and Hendrik Meyl of Gemodo Coffee back in 2012. They worked with creative firm LUNAR Europe to design the portable coffee maker, and launched a crowdfunding campaign for the product on StartNext last year. That campaign was not successful, but the creators wrote on their campaign page and on Piamo’s Facebook page that they were looking for other options for Piamo.
