Platform Turns Ad Clients’ Shot-Down Ideas Into Creative Gold

Ideas To Steal Today gives discarded campaigns a second chance to be appreciated.

The phrase “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” rings true especially in the creative industry, where clients have the final say on whether an idea or an entire campaign will be approved – or will languish in the throes of creative limbo. For a copywriter or an art director, it may seem like all of those billable hours, hard work, and creative energy went down the drain.

What if there was a way to turn ideas that would otherwise be discarded into food for thought for others? Enter a new website that gives those concepts a chance to prevail, and serve at least as opportunistic inspiration to the site’s visitors.

Ideas To Steal Today was created by Kalle Everland and Timo Klaarenbeek, and invites creatives to post their rejected work with a short write-up and a key visual. All of the ideas on this website are free to use as long as their new co-owners credit the person who posted the idea. The platform allows consolation for creatives to see their hard work and pride still purposefully put to use, even if it’s not for their own clients. Metaphorically speaking, the site is similar to a pro athlete who coaches at the youth level – seeing the fruits of his or her blood, sweat, and tears pay off in a rewarding fashion as it’s provided to others.
