Car Can Travel Across Country On A Single Gallon Of Gas

Every year, Shell holds the Eco-Marathon Americas, a competition which challenges teams of students to try and build some of the world’s most energy-efficient vehicles. This year, a group of student from Université Laval in Quebec, designed an oddly-shaped vehicle that can get 2,824 miles per gallon. What that means, is that the car would be able to travel from New York to Los Angeles on less than a gallon of fuel.

Anonymous Chat App Creates An Exclusive Social Network Inside Applebee’s 

Smartphone-toting Applebee’s diners can now strike up anonymous conversations with their fellow diners at the restaurant using a new anonymous social chat app called WhatsApplebee’s.

Tapping into the growing trend for food-ography, Birds Eye has opened the world’s first pay-by-picture restaurant to launch its Inspirations dining range. Diners settle the bill by taking a picture on Instagram and uploading it to their social networks using the hashtag #BirdsEyeInspirations.

Birds Eye created a pop-up eatery where visitors have the option to pay for their bill by simply uploading and sharing an Instagram shot of their meal with the hashtag #BirdsEyeInspirations.

Segway Inventor Debuts A Mind-Controlled Prosthetic Arm

Dean Kamen, the inventor who brought us the Segway, has created a robotic arm that could be controlled by the user’s mind and can perform complex actions and multiple movements simultaneously.

The Food and Drug Administration has just approved the DEKA arm system, a prosthetic limb that is being described as one of the most realistic and human-like prosthetics to date since it brings back almost all functionality of the actual human arm.
