As we focus on growing our offering across formats and channels, I’m looking to work with someone with dedication, determination and most of all dreams. The Managing Editor is our leading light and works with a networked team of incredible writers and researchers, and collaborates endlessly with the Editor In Chief.

Job Description

Daily/Core Duties

  • Ensure the quality of

  • Oversee and proof the selection of all stories published on

  • Proof and publish 20-25 articles per day

  • Manage stable of 20+ freelancers located around the globe

  • Read all pitches made by freelance writers and work with them to develop accepted ideas

  • Work with a stable of tastemaker columnists and process their Op-Ed submissions

  • Supervise in-office staff of three, including one intern

  • Liaise between the Editor-in-Chief and in-house staff and freelance team to create and execute content programs/series

  • Direct ideation, production and publication of all Branded Content on the site

  • Monitor health of site traffic and produce weekly/monthly reports including social stats

  • Represent PSFK at speaking engagements and events


  • Bachelor’s degree, and at least 3 years editing and writing for a media outlet – preferred focus on emerging technologies, design, art & culture, but not required

  • Strong writing and editing skills – need to be able to manage both substantive and copy editing

  • Experience with content management and analytics systems, WordPress and Google Analytics strongly preferred

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented multitasker

  • Able to handle a fast-paced environment where deadlines are paramount

  • Strong leadership skills. Able to manage a team’s workload as well as your own and provide motivation and constant feedback

  • Understanding of what makes a good story

  • Understanding of evolving media/tech space
