Jaguar: How To Engage A Car Consumer In The Digital Age [PSFK 2016]
Before Uber talks reinventing cities at PSFK 2016, watch Jaguar mogul discuss automotive design
Each year, PSFK gathers innovators, thought leaders, and revolutionaries at its flagship conference in New York. As you get ready to hear from brands like Uber, The New York Times, and Gatorade at PSFK 2016 on May 13, check out some the most popular speakers from past conferences.
Jaguar chief designer Julian Thomson had worked in the automobile industry for years but realized that it had come to a standstill where innovative design was concerned. Since his time at the helm of the luxury auto firm, he has sought to breathe new life into car design, as he discussed at PSFK CONFERENCE 2012 in London. This year, Julius Marchwicki of Ford Motor Company, will take it one step further and speak about the connection between humans and their technology, with specific reference to Sync.
At PSFK CONFERENCE 2013, Julius shared his thoughts on the changing relationship between the user and his or her automobile. At the time of his talk, he had already started to strengthen the link with Sync, which allowed a driver to connect his or her smartphone to the car and access it via voice-activation software.
Watch Julian’s talk from 2012 below to get a sense of the thought process behind designing a luxury vehicle.
