At the beginning of September, Amex set up an elaborate promotion in the harbor area by the World Trade Center site in NYC. The promotion took up a lot of space and offered interactive experiences as well as a more leisurely one.
A large screen was set up and rows of leisurely seats set up on a stand for spectators to drop by and watch a tennis game or two. A huge scoreboard kept tabs on the players. Another stand showed the running total of Aces (and Amex commitment of giving $10K to charity for every ace) – there were 713 [...]
