Finding a second life in a 102-year old, 10,000 square foot horse stable located in Dumbo, the club becomes New York City’s first LEED certified “green” cultural venue. Along with their not-for-profit fundraising activities, a rotating showcase of theater, dance, performance art, music, cinema, and literary events keep things fresh. www.galapagosartspace.com – 16 Main St, Brooklyn, NY Galapagos Art Space is featured in our latest book PSFK Snapshot Brooklyn. The standing interface includes elements that respond to both movement and touch, translating these gestures into corresponding sounds that would be a welcome addition to your next rave. The system features 56 proximity sensors arranged throughout a 7′ x 8′ grid. It reminds us a little of a modern day take on Theremin, only for the slightly more hyperactive set.
