Ikea’s Bedroom Secrets

Ikea's Bedroom Secrets

Ikea has become known for innovative digital campaigns: Open Kitchen was one of their most recent successes, a site that allowed users to upload images of their kitchens with the chance to win back the cost of their Ikea kitchen. Their latest one is Bedroom Secrets, where apart from winning a similar prize for uploading pictures of their bedrooms, users can look into the bedrooms of three characters: Lonne, Sven and Manette, live. Reminds us of Nokia’s Somebody Else’s Phone campaign, as well as Diesel’s hijacking campaign from not too long ago, though user-generated content is something the other two [...]

To better compete, companies slashed jobs and wages, replacing much of their work force with temporary workers who had no job security and fewer benefits. Nontraditional workers now make up more than a third of Japan’s labor force.
Younger people are feeling the brunt of that [...]

Amidst Recession, Diesel Goes Big on 5th Ave

Amidst Recession, Diesel Goes Big on 5th Ave

Diesel has just opened its largest store ever on Fifth Avenue in NYC, an event obviously several years in the making, but which comes at a time when brands are canceling their runway shows and store closures are a dime a dozen. Diesel’s new store boasts “over 700 different denim styles and washes on every floor” and it makes you think if this store is going to be able to move all that merchandise, or if it’s just a brand play that will have residual effects on worldwide sales.
Maybe even more interesting, the window displays at Diesel Planet, as the [...]
