Fujitsu announced the plan four years ago, and the technology finally seems to be ready for the public. The advertising-based medium uses wireless LAN services for content delivery and is robust enough to be handled by countless lunch-goers, running through an entire business day without needing a charge (e-paper only uses power when the information displayed changes). Where will these cool electronic devices get their power? Perhaps from one of Japan’s 1,400 electricity-generating wind turbines – much to the dismay of its neighbors. After the gadget site stopped allowing comments to appear on a certain blog post they reminded everyone of their position that comments are a privilege not a right: You may have noticed that comments on the recent Storm post have been turned off. If you’re wondering why that’s the case, it’s because a handful of folks posting on that story are being rude,Read more...

Inspired by the international gesture for “call me!”, the “Icono” concept phone by London-based designer Zinc Chan actually turns your thumb and pinkie into a speaker and microphone. You dial calls by drawing a unique pattern on the accompanying touchscreen. According to Engadget Mobile: As far fetched as the concept may seem, work related to induction charging, body area networks for transmitting audio across human skin, round LCDs, and any number of short length wireless solutions could very well make this concept a near-term reality. Who knows, pretty soon we could be cuttingRead more...
