A follow up to Scott’s post on PSFK yesterday, we’ve got some photos and more information on Free Store, the part cultural pop-up shop, part second hand boutique in Lower Manhattan. Created by artists Athena Robles and Anna Stein, the Free Store is a model of economic sustenance that we believe could be used (at least on a small scale) in cities worldwide.

A Different Kind of Pop-Up Shop: Free Store Opens Tonight in NYC

NYC will get yet another pop-up shop starting tonight when artists Athena Robles and Anna Stein open their Free Store in Lower Manhattan. The project is a twist on the traditional consumer based model and will only stock one or two products that have been produced in-house, the rest of the merchandise will be provided by the public who are invited to bring in items to add to the collection or use them as a means of barter and exchange.
