Google Earth 5.0 Contains Lunar Atlas
Exactly 40 years after Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon, Google Earth launched the 5.0 version of their software containing an interactive 3-D atlas of the Moon.

Pic: Real Life Dead Pixel
A small 82cmx82cm square of dirt has been created to represent a “dead pixel” in Google Earth by artist Helmut Smits. He burned out the square from a patch of grass, which would look like a non-functioning pixel at a vertical distance of 1km.

Surfing Google Earth On the Wii Fit
Two German artificial intelligence researchers have developed a hack for the Wii Fit that allows them to surf Google Earth terrain. While the Wii Fit has already demonstrated another capability in the internet-assisted health care realm, the hack gives it a fun new use by taking advantage of the boards 4 ‘wobbling’ sensors, converting them into steering and throttle, allowing the user to cruise over the satellite mapped ground like famed Marvel comic hero Silver Surfer.
