Japanese artist Hiroshi Sunairi has conceived a new twist on the idea of seed bombing by sharing seeds from Hibaku trees that survived the bombing of Hiroshima with gardeners from across the globe. The curated project, titled Leur L’Existence (Tree Project), offers seeds from numerous varieties that include Round Leaf Holly, Persimmon, Chinaberry, Firmiana simplex, Japanese Hackberry and Jujube.
A blog chronicles the growth of these seedlings as they sprout across the planet, serving as a testament that life can truly be cultivated out of chaos and destruction. The endeavor will culminate on December 2009 with a show at the The Horticultural Society of New York, [...]
