Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of Japanese architectural firm SANAA were recently selected to design the summer pavilion at London’s Serpentine Gallery. (They were also part of a 2006 list of the 10 most important buildings of the 21st century).They recently revealed their plans for the pavilion – an aluminium canopy that will mirror the surrounding areas of Hyde Park, making the environment a huge element in the very success of the design.
