Working in collaboration with the Nike Sportswear IAM1 launch of the 2009 Air Maxim, INSA’s premier London show in 2009 featured footage from the IAM1 Journey Nike Sportswear project by Charlie Dark. It featured a multimedia mix of large scale installations, photography, prints, exclusive collaboration projects, and a stunning animation made up of 35 frames which were hand painted across east London in 7 days. This artist collaboration project had evolved out of inspiration from the 1987 Air Max 1. The Offender Locator App uses the iPhone’s built-in GPS to pinpoint the user’s location and provides a map that lists where the offenders are located. Tapping on one of the ‘pins’ dropped on to the map pops up a photograph of the offender, as well as their address, date of birth, and list of convictions. This app could come in handy if you’re planning a trip alone, into an unfamiliar area. Users are able to search by typing in a street addressRead more...

This was the guiding vision of this year’s winners at the Future City Mobility competition for designers to envision how London’s transportation could look in 2030. Marten Wallgren, a Swede studying at the Royal College of Art and with three collegues, won the SeymourPowell award for their concept dubbed, “London Garden”. The scheme incorporates a network of electric buses, taxis, and scooter-bikes, all of which interconnect to make London Garden a car-free zone.
