Inflatable Dinosaur Measures Air Quality

Inflatable Dinosaur Measures Air Quality

The Huntington Beach Art Center in California is currently holding an exhibition of three site responsive installations entitled “Land, Sea, Air” until September 6th.
One of the three exhibits is “Prana”- an inflatable dinosaur that measures and visualizes the quality of air in Huntington Beach. Every ten seconds, Prana collects new data from the cross-government agency website airnow.gov,  and changes color (utilizing an internal light) from green to red based upon the information it receives.

You can view a gallery of the exhibit here.

A black road in the museum takes you down into the building and along the way visitors stop in “white houses” to find out more about the heritage. The designers must have been told to make an experience as beautiful and captivating as the cars themselves.

The Museum of Online Museums

The Museum of Online Museums

Consider any free time you thought you had gone for the foreseeable future, as you spend your days wandering through the virtual halls of what might be the world’s largest museum (…of museums).  The Museum of Online Museums is a project begun by Coudal Partners, a design, advertising and interactive studio based in Chicago, as a means of preserving and sharing the vast array of the Internet’s archives that span the culturally significant to the obsessively bizarre. The “galleries” which are updated continuously, but are additionally overhauled once a quarter, are broken up into four sections: “The Museum Campus” featuring [...]
