We love to know where things are and companies that offer online tracking services tend to do better, no matter what their business is. When UPS first started offering online tracking in late 1995, it got around 100,000 requests. Last December, UPS got 27.3 million requests per day. Today, there are services to track our flights, the buses in our neighborhood, even where the money is going. What does this growing consumer demand say about our culture?

UN Opens a Tuition-Free University
The United Nations recently announced the launch of the world’s first tuition-free online university. Named the University of the People, the school will open up access to higher education for many individuals around the world.
The UN explains:
For hundreds of millions of people around the world higher education is no more than a dream, Shai Reshef, the founder of the University of the People, told reporters. Chipotle Launches Mobile Ordering iPhone App
Earlier this week Chipotle, the burrito-centric Mexican(-inspired) grill, launched an iPhone application to order your meal from your phone and then pick it up once it’s prepared. Users could find the nearest location, customize their order, pay for their meal and even save favorites for later. The application was built on their already efficient online ordering system, but took it a step further to a smooth graphic user interface for the popular iPhone.
