Every two months our Hamburg-based German office curates panel discussions on topics from the fields of society, arts, media and culture. The first panel in our new event series kicked off November 20, where we discussed the state of digital music culture around the overall theme ‘Music is Okay?!’. Panelists included Oke Göttlich (CEO Finetunes), Eric Wahlforss (Co-Founder of SoundCloud), Ruben Jonas Schnell (CEO ByteFM) and Ulrich Stock (Die Zeit).

2009 Wall Calendar Designed by DJ DSL
Apart from his great work as a producer and DJ, Hamburg based multi-talented DJ DSL has just released his latest piece of work: a 2009 wall calendar. Renowned for his signature club-flyers, Football Wallcharts and sleeve designs, DJ DSL this time applied his hand-drawn style to the year ahead.
The wallpaper sized calendar costs 20 Euros + shipping (in a box), measures are 118,9 x 47,7 cm / 46,8″ x 18,8″ so all your dates and friends’ birthdays can easily fit.

Munich’s New Media Spa – For Men Only!
An article in German newspaper SZ reports about the opening of Germany’s first men only spa in Munich. The 350 sqm recreational site offers a service range from a 45 min. treatment up to an extensive 5 hour stay. If required, a limo-service can pick you up from your hotel or business meetings. So if you feel like it guys, get yourself a decent pedicure, ayurvedic massage or a high-tech peeling. Strange though that they are offering W-Lan and flatscreens with the latest business news.

Kengo Kuma’s Inflatable Tea House
Last summer Japanese architect Kengo Kuma presented his inflatable tea house at the Museum für Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt. The temporary space was set up in the museum’s garden and once fully inflated, covered approximately twenty square meters. The structure’s interior is illuminated using integrated LEDs and fits nine tatami mats, a stove for the water kettle, as well as a preparation room.

Interactive Graffiti Wall
Hamburg based new media agency Jung von Matt/next have produced an interactive graffiti wall called Nextwall. The 30m wall was painted by graffiti artists Aim, Tasek, Daddy Cool, Desur and Seak over 5 days in April 2007 – of course, the entire process was filmed and streamed online in real time.
The wall now serves as an experimental platform for different technologies. By capturing Semacodes on the wall you can download goodies for your mobile such as wallpapers showing the Matroschka characters, videos about the participating artists and the creation of the wall.
