The Swedish Design Award, presented to exemplary objects across a diverse span of categories, demands of its recipients that their work be sustainable, financially viable, and perform in practice as well as they might have appeared as concepts. The designers themselves must also, of course, be Swedish. All nineteen of the objects honored this year—from a dress to a bottle of glue—will be on display at the Pratt Institute in New York through August 5th.
