I don’t think it’s a stretch of the imagination to say that vintage Levi’s are the stuff fashion dreams are made of. The iconic brand ( which is so internationally popular that during the heyday of communism, a pair could trade for about anything you could want in Eastern Europe) has been on the behinds of everyone from movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean to former and current US Presidents.

However, up until recently it was next to impossible to find good condition vintage (pre-1980’s) Levi’s without going overseas to clothing depots in Japan and Europe. This is all [...]

It’s not a good time for fashion retail.
So, why is it that the owners of Dear 55, a boutique in Manhattans Lower East Side have upgraded and expanded to a much bigger store on nearby Rivington Street, now called Dear Rivington+ ?
The answer is in the +. Owners and designers Moon Rhee and Heyja Do would say that the + represents the addition of menswear and antique furniture designed to complement their existing line of womenswear. Having spent a morning with them at the new store, itʼs obvious that they themselves are the + in the equation.

Those with both a fistful of money to burn on an iPhone app and deep nostalgia for retro Hewlitt Packard calculators may be a slim cohort, but if they’re out there, HP has them covered. Two vintage designs—the HP 12C financial calculator and HP 15C scientific calculator—have been carefully rendered via touchscreen, costing $15 and $30 respectively. There’s no doubt the buttons are wonderful looking, and the nerd chic aesthetic has its charms, but we would advise waiting for the price to drop a bit before replacing the iPhone’s already more than adequate built-in calculator.

The legacy of Polaroid isn’t dead yet. An Austrian artist, businessman and Polaroid obsessive name Florian Kaps has swooped in to save the day.
Last February when Polaroid announced they would stop making the iconic film, enthusiasts of the instant cameras were distraught at what seemed like the end of an era. But Kaps has devised a plan to re-open the currently dormant Polaroid factory in Amsterdam and begin manufacturing film again. Kaps is also the founder of Polanoid.net, (the biggest Polaroid gallery on the web) and Polanoir, the first ever Polaroid-only art gallery in Vienna.
The Independent reports:
Now he plans to [...]
