Levi’s Does An Abercrombie & Fitch
The latest Levi’s campaign to re-brand the dying apparel company leaves us frustrated and a little angry. A campaign by Wieden+Kennedy that was supposed to target Generation O seems to have ignored all the participation and multi-culturalism that this Obama-era is supposed to represent. Instead, we find lone white young men and women running through the hills and towards waves reflecting a misplaced interpretation of freedom.
Levi’s and its campaign don’t connect with the great things that are happening in this country, the radiant mix of cultures evolving within it nor the reality of its past.

Video: You Came Out From We Have Band
This video for We Have Band stands out with its use of face paint animation. The video was made up of 4,816 separate stills, where each frame had to be re-painted, shot, wiped off, and redrawn.
One question we have is why was it made by Wieden+Kennedy? Creatives Ida Gronblom and Fabian Berglund from the agency directed the video and knowing W+K’s wiliness it does make you fear that this is just one big ad for a cosmetics company…

Wieden Kennedy’s Nokia Competition Shows That Crowdsourcing Can Suck For The Crowd
The recent headphone competition that was run by Nokia by the London office of the advertising agency Wieden Kennedy highlights how much the odds seem stacked against creatives who participate in crowsdsourcing. After receiving entries from creatives with designs of headphones inspired by a favorite track, one of the top prizes was awarded to a designer that works both for Nokia and Wieden Kennedy – an action that specifically goes against the rules of the competition.
