MySpace Hopes to Become a Window for Youth Culture

Echoing their early days as a community of young bands, MySpace wants to reposition itself as a place for young creatives, rather than a disorganized collection of companies, bands and individuals all spamming one another. Creating a tighter demographic will certainly put a direction on the site, but it remains to be seen if it can compete with the readily updated features on Facebook. Anastasia from YpulseRead more...

I better start by saying that I love YPulse and the work Anastasia has put into the youth media site. But, today I have an issue with a post that Liz Funk, a writer and student, has posted today entitled ‘Tips For Young And Aspiring Media Professionals In Uncertain Times‘. It’s not that her tips could have been published at any time in the last 40 years that really bothers me – it’s the lack of understanding about the huge shift in the working landscape that is happening and the great opportunities that this should bring. Whether we like itRead more...

Named Ypulse, the site provides media and marketing professionals daily news & commentary about Generation Y. She’s also supported by a team of roving teen reporters. Q. Tell me about your site. Ypulse.com provides daily news & commentary about Gen Y for media and marketing professionals. My readers also include some teens, teachers, librarians, youth ministers, etc. I see it as a place where marketing and commercial media aimed at youth intersect and hopefully interact with non-profit youth media.
