It started in Feb 2004 with Prada deciding that the ultimate accessory was a robot made of spare parts hanging from your belt, bag or key ring. Then Will Smith came to the big screen with I Robot, a story loosely based on the Asimov book of short stories. Now we see two more robot sightings: Hint Mags’ online robot fashion story and the release in March of ‘Robots’ a new cartoon from the creators of Ice Age.
With the success of robot toys at Christmas (Robosapian and even the SONY AIBO priced at £1000!!), more Asimov Robot stories than you can shake a stick at, the new Star Wars film in the summer and the Metallic handbag craze which is just about to kick off PSFK predicts that robot sightings will become almost as common place as Alien ones.
