The New Scientist has details of NTT DoCoMo’s trials in Japan of 4G phones. NTT DoCoMo say the phones could receive data at 100 megabits per second on the move and at up to a gigabit per second while static. At this rate, an entire DVD could be downloaded within a minute.

These phones will be ready by 2010. Will the film industry be ready by then, we wonder.New Scientist
